This website is operated by Simon Napper, trading as a freelance .Net and Umbraco developer based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy, contact me at hello@simonnapper.co.uk.
This site does not collect any personal data directly. I do not run contact forms, user accounts, or mailing lists on this site.
The only data collected is through Google Analytics, and only if you choose to accept cookies (see below).
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use it — for example, which sections are most visited and how long people spend on the page. This helps me improve the site over time.
No cookies are set until you explicitly accept. If you decline, Google Analytics does not load and no cookies are placed on your device.
IP anonymisation is enabled, meaning your full IP address is never stored. The data is aggregate and not used to identify you personally. It is not sold or shared with advertisers.
You can withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of this page (and every page on the site). Withdrawing consent is as straightforward as giving it — a GDPR requirement.
You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on(opens in new tab) to block GA across all sites, regardless of consent banners.
Google's own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy(opens in new tab).
This site links to LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and GitHub. These sites have their own privacy policies; I have no control over their data practices and am not responsible for them.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data held about you. Since this site holds no personal data directly (analytics data is held by Google and is anonymised), there is typically nothing to action — but if you have a question, email me at the address above.
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision.
This policy reflects standard UK GDPR/PECR practice. It is not legal advice. If you need certainty for your own compliance purposes, please consult a qualified solicitor.
